A major pipe burst in Farquhar Road has residents and motorists astonished at how much water is being wasted.  People have described the burst pipe as an erupting volcano, as water has been spraying up and gushing down the road since early this morning (February 12).

Parents had to drive carefully when dropping their children off at school.

Schoolchildren had to give the “fountain” a wide berth in order not to get soaking wet as they entered the school.
