Residents living in the Egerton area say that their roads have been left to just fall apart after potholes have popped up all over the place.
Area resident Candida De Franca says “it’s just potholes, potholes and guess what, more potholes all over the street.”
She commented on the matter, angered by the fact that the municipality only seems to cover up the potholes with loose stones and when the rain comes, the stones get washed away all over the road.

She added that the potholes in various streets make driving difficult for motorists and can easily damage a vehicle, leading to unnecessary expenses.
Residents ask: Who will pay for the damages if something happens to their vehicles as a result of terrible road surfaces?
Many people in town are left outraged by the poor quality of roads throughout Ladysmith and feel that their cries for help just fall on deaf ears.
They say that they pay rates and taxes, yet nothing gets done about the situation. “Where is our money going if the roads aren’t being fixed? We just want to be able to commute like normal motorists!”
