Police make 10 arrests over the weekend for possession of dagga

All 10 suspects have appeared in various magistrate's courts

During the course of last weekend, no less than 10 people, aged between 21 and 38, were arrested by police in the Uthukela Cluster.

All 10 suspects were found in possession of dagga.

Ntabamhlope police officers held a stop and search operation in the Embangweni area and arrested six men for being in possession of dagga. They all had small amounts on them.

Bergville officers arrested two men in the Emmaus area, one of whom was in possession of a bag containing dagga. They then arrested another man in the CBD on a similar charge.

In addition, Upper Tugela officers arrested a man in the Kwamaye location. He had a small amount of dagga in his possession. The recovered drugs weighed in at just over 11.5kg, with an estimated street value of around R17,250.

All 10 suspects made an appearance on Monday (February 26) in various magistrate’s courts.
