Police in the Uthukela Cluster are investigating two cases of murder and an inquest after a man shot and killed two women and then turned the gun on himself earlier in the week.
A 39-year-old man first shot and killed his 29-year-old girlfriend at the Geluksburg turnoff in the Ladysmith area, before travelling to Ezakheni, where he shot and killed another woman, aged 28.
The girlfriend suffered multiple gunshot wounds and her body was left at the side of the road.

After the suspect had shot the woman in Ezakheni, he turned the gun on himself.
The Ezakheni woman also suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
The deceased have not yet been officially identified.
The motive for the shooting is as yet unclear.
