Community chase man who stabbed homeowner
Police sources told the Courier that the spike in crime is closely linked to the release of prisoners back into the community.

Fed-up with those released from prison repeatedly committing crime, members of the Sithembile community, Glencoe, chased a man who early on Sunday morning broke into a house and stabbed the homeowner.
Police said the suspect, named as 23-year-old Sicelo Ncube, has already appeared in the Glencoe Magistrate’s Court. He was also stabbed by his victim when he was confronted when he broke into the house.
The suspect made off with money and other possessions. Members of the community identified him and went to his house to look for him. However, by then, Ncube had sought refuge at the police station.
He was taken to hospital to be treated. However, upon hearing members of the community had been at his house, he disappeared from hospital. He was later arrested and appeared in court where an order was given to retain him in police custody.
Police sources told the Courier that the spike in crime is closely linked to the release of prisoners back into the community.
