The matter regarding the convenience store that was robbed in Lyell Street on Thursday, February 22, is still under investigation by police and no arrests have been made as yet.
It is alleged that the men stormed into the store and while two of the robbers held the cashier at gunpoint and demanded money, the other two went into the cash office. They assaulted employees and got away with money and other items.
A man who witnessed the incident initially gave chase. He saw the robbers running out of the store and getting into a silver Mini Cooper.

One of the suspects fired warning shots into the air before they sped off. Within an hour of the robbery, police found the Mini Cooper in an open veld in Tanjore Road.
