Spike in burglaries of ‘great concern’ to police

Residents are going to have to more vigilant

Four cases of housebreaking have been opened at the Dundee Police Station in the past week, as criminals continue to have their way.
On Tuesday, March 27, a home in Comet Street was broken into. Blankets, tools, boots, dishes and a knife were stolen. The door to the property was forced open and the property valued at R845 was stolen.
On Wednesday, March 28, a property in Craigside was broken into. A DVD, amplifier, and kettle, valued at R2 600 was stolen after thieves forced the door open.
A home was broken into over the weekend in Willson Street. Samsung and Acer laptops, a TV, and shoes were stolen. A duplicate key was used to gain access to the property.
A Gladstone Street home was also broken into on Saturday, March 3. Jewellery, an iPhone, and cash of R5000 was stolen. A window was forced open and the burglar guard broken to gain access to the home.
