Dannhauser police arrested an 18-year-old teenager for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm as well as ammunition at Ruthland Farm, on March 8.

Dannhauser SAPS Corporate Communications and Liaison Officer, Sergeant Mfanafuthi Nyembe alleged the suspect had discharged the firearm, when members of the public reported the matter to the police.
“The police the approached the suspects house and requested he hand over the firearm, to which he showed them where he hid it.”
Police recovered a revolver and 14 rounds of ammunition, 2 x 9mm pistol rounds and 1 x 7.65 round.
The suspect appeared at the Dannhauser Magistrate’s Court and the case was remanded to April 10.
