
Two men were arrested within a matter of days after a business robbery was committed on Sunday, March 4, in the Bethany area of Bergville. The suspects appeared in court this past week.
The two men, one of whom was armed with a pistol, entered a shop as it was about to close.
The robbers held the shop owner at gunpoint and stole a small amount of cash before fleeing the scene.
A case of business robbery was opened at Bergville police station.
The case docket was allocated to a young detective who immediately set out to arrest the criminals who had committed the robbery.
The detective canvassed the area in search of information and her efforts paid off when information was received from the community on the evening of Tuesday, March 6.

Visible policing officers rushed out to the Bethany area, where they arrested two men aged 30 and 32.
Further investigation revealed that the firearm used during the robbery could be in the possession of a third individual in the same area. Police have since recovered the firearm.
The men have been in custody while the investigation continues. They appeared in court on Wednesday (March 14).
