A bus carrying schoolchildren got stuck after it sunk into a hole in Keate Street this afternoon (March 19).

A pipe had burst, flooding the street, and it is alleged that the driver could not see clearly how big the hole was due to all the water swirling around.

DA councillor Valentino Murugan saw what happened and immediately went to help, along with a caretaker from Keate Street Primary School.

It took them about half an hour to free the bus.
