15-year-old killed after being struck by lightning

An inquest docket has been opened and the incident is being investigated.

Dannhauser SAPS are investigating the death of a 15-year-old school girl, after she was struck by lightning on March 15.

According to Dannhauser SAPS Corporate Communications Officer, Sergeant Mfanafuthi Nyembe, the girl was walking home from Emfundweni High School at around 2.30pm, when she was struck by a bolt of lightning, which fatally wounded her.

An inquest docket has been opened and the incident is being investigated.
