MUST READ: Sewage infrastructure continues to fail

Questions posed to the municipality through its Communications Department included what the cause was, how it was resolved and how overflowing sewage was dealt with in general.

Sewage flooded the intersection of Voortrekker and Paterson Streets last week.

Waste water bubbled from beneath a manhole at the crossing, although the exact cause of the overflow has not yet been determined.

This mirrored the situation on Link Road recently.

Even on Tuesday this week, toilet paper remnants and clusters of faeces have befouled the pavement close to the speed hump before the Hospital Street intersection.

The municipality missed the deadline for comment once again.

Questions posed to the municipality through its Communications Department included what the cause was, how it was resolved and how overflowing sewage was dealt with in general.

To date, no response was received.
