Left without water due to problem at Ezakheni Bulk Water Treatment Plant

Water should be restored shortly

Aloe Park and surrounding areas have been without water since this afternoon (March 24).

According to uThukela, there were some interruptions at the Ezakheni Bulk Water Treatment Plant following the heavy rains received over the last few days.

However, all the pumps are currently working at full capacity and water is expected to be back to normal by sometime tonight.

uThukela says the situation is still the same at the Bergville Water Treatment Works.

The Tugela River is still flooding and as a result, the raw water pumps are underwater in such a way that no one can get close to the pump house. This means that the areas of supply – Bergville town, Woodford, Rookdale, Bhethani, Acton Homes and Hambrook – will remain affected.

People are urged to save water in case another interruption takes place.

Water should be restored shortly.
