Blocked storm-water drains cause flooding

"There is flooding right up onto the pavement and this is extremely dangerous for motorists who don't know the road is flooded"

No water is usually the norm in Ladysmith, but after it rains, too much water is the problem for residents of Park Lane. Their problem is that the storm-water drains are blocked and when it rains, the water floods the street.

“This is what the residents of Park Lane have to endure every time it rains, because our municipality is too lazy to clear storm-water drains. There is flooding right up onto the pavement and this is extremely dangerous for motorists who don’t know the road is flooded!” stated one infuriated resident.

Blocked storm-water drains have been causing this problem for some time now and this has left residents furious. They are wondering when the municipality will finally do something about the situation.

The heavy rain experienced over the weekend has only aggravated the issue.

Residents say this problem will continue if it is not solved now.

At this time, the municipality has not commented on the matter.
