A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle on Hardwick Street at around 6.30pm this evening.

According to sources, it’s believed the pedestrian was crossing the road at the time.
The man is believed to be in his 30s.
Newcastle SAPS, Protection Services, Newcastle 911 CPF and ambulance services rushed to the scene.
Despite attempts to resuscitate the man, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The exact circumstances of the incident are unclear and will remain subject to further investigation.
