A recent Intelligence Driven Operation, led by oSizweni Crime Prevention members, secured the arrests of four suspects who were found to be in possession of various drugs in the oSizweni Policing Area.
According to Newcastle SAPS Corporate Communications and Liaison Officer, Captain Jabulani Ncube, the police were following up on a tip-off, when they made the arrests.

“The police were informed of alleged drug dealers, who were operating from various houses in Section C. Members proceeded to the house, and on arrival they recovered a black bag containing 0.105kg dry-loose dagga.”
They then proceeded to another house in Section B, where they recovered two full Mandrax tablets.
Thereafter, members proceeded to to yet another house in Section B, where they recovered 28 parcels of dry-loose dagga weighing 0.098kg, three full Mandrax tablets, two half Mandrax tablets and one quarter Mandrax tablet.

“All drugs recovered were estimated at a total street value of around R2 800.”
All four suspects, aged between 24 and 27 years, will appear at the Madadeni Magistrate’s Court soon.
