PREVIEW: Ferret Street upgrade bears both pros and cons

Months after the Ferret Street upgrade was due to be completed, residents remain upset at problems which followed.

Residents remain divided on the Ferret Street upgrade last year.

In the words of one resident, the work was going at a snail’s pace.

“I noticed there is a lot of remedial work being done by the contractor.”

He said new manholes are being dug up due to alleged poor workmanship.

In its official response, the municipality confirmed the contractor involved with storm water system upgrade of Ferret Street was granted a time extension.

This exempted the municipality any additional operational costs.
