Only one of the three men arrested in connection with the attempted armed robbery at Jaco’s Engineering remains in custody.
Zimele Shelembe (31) from Osizweni will be spending another weekend behind bars after the Investigating Officer for the case, Attie Engelbrecht, stood before the magistrate in court on Friday and said that he believed that the offence was a serious one and he did not believe that the accused should be granted bail.

The case appeared rather briefly, as court had to be adjourned earlier, with it being Friday and the court closing at 1PM.
The accused will stand before the court and be questioned by the state prosecutor on Wednesday.
Mr Engelbrecht will also be cross-examined by the accused’s lawyer, Mr Xolani Msimango, before a decision is taken on whether bail should be granted.
