A 59-year-old male will be appearing in the Weenen Court on Thursday, May 10, facing charges relating to a double murder that took place in January this year. A mother and son were shot dead on January 3.
On Wednesday, January 3, Weenen police were alerted to a shooting in the Ezintendeni area. On arrival at the scene, the officers discovered the bodies of a 45-year-old mother and her 15-year-old son.

It is alleged that both were shot after an argument between the woman and her husband.
The suspect appeared in court on January 19, where bail was denied.
His last appearance in court was on February 2.
