Vryheid SAPS’ Tracing Team has been hard at work ensuring that law-breakers are brought to justice.
On April 9, the team managed to trace down a man who had been arrested for drinking and driving in 2017. At the time, he was released on R1 500 bail, but he fled town and was never seen again.
The man has now been found in the Kwathema area in Springs.

Along with the man wanted for drinking and driving, the team arrested two men suspected of having defrauded people of their money through internet scams in separate incidents.
“I am really proud of the members that have worked with such dedication to ensure that all these suspects are arrested,” said Warrant Officer Jethro Khumalo.
