An Intelligence Driven Operation was conducted on April 16 in the oSizweni policing area.

Newcastle Cluster Task Team (NCT), Newcastle Public Order Policing (POP) Unit members and oSizweni Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) members followed up on information received and proceeded to a house in Blaauwbosch, at Ngobese Stand.
30 full Mandrax tablets were found on the scene. The search led members to another house in Blaauwbosch, where they recovered dry loose dagga weighing 0,089 grams.
While patrolling the public road at (F)Section, oSizweni a suspect was arrested with four and a half Mandrax tablets in his possession.
Two quarters of Mandrax tablets and one full Mandrax tablet was also recovered from another house in F Section.
On the morning of April 17, the crime prevention units involved continued with their patrol duties on the public road at Blaauwbosch next to Mzamo High School, where they recovered various items which were allegedly stolen.
The stolen goods included a pair of pliers, one shifting spanner, one multipurpose spanner, various screw drivers, a luggage bag and one fence gate.
The operation yielded positive results as four drug dealers, aged 23, 25, 29 and 54-years-old , were arrested for possession of drugs.
The recovered drugs was estimated to have a street value of R5 000.
A 30-year-old male suspect was arrested and charged for possession of suspected stolen goods to the value of R3 800.
All the arrested suspects have already appeared in the Madadeni Magistrate’s Court.
