Update: Another arrest made for brutal gang fight at school in Ladysmith KZN

The brutal fight led to bloodshed, with one 20-year-old learner sustaining stab wounds

School gang fights have become a major problem at many schools throughout the country and this phenomenon hit Ladysmith on Thursday, April 12.

A vicious gang fight broke out at a school in Ezakheni E-Section, which is just outside Ladysmith.

The brutal fight led to bloodshed, with one 20-year-old learner sustaining stab wounds to his body and having to be taken to hospital.

Initially, four males between the age of 17 and 21 were arrested and made an appearance in the Ezakheni Magistrate’s Court.

Since then, another person has been arrested for the gang fight.

Learners took video footage of the fight, which went viral on social media. (The footage does not show the stabbing, but captures the pandemonium that erupted)

The learners, armed with knives and rocks, attacked each other on the school premises in the assembly area just before the start of the school day.
