Update: Still no arrests for armed robbery at convenience store

The robbers got away with money and other items

Police are yet to make arrests after a convenience store in Lyell Street was held up by four men on February 22.

The robbers held the cashier at gunpoint and demanded cash. Two men stormed into the store, while the other two men went into the cash office.

They got away with money and other items.

A man who saw what was happening initially gave chase. He saw the robbers running out of the store and getting into a silver Mini Cooper. One of the suspects fired a warning gunshot into the air before they sped off.

Within an hour of the robbery, police found the Mini Cooper in open veld in Tanjore Road.
