PREVIEW: The de Wet family strengthens bonds through wrestling
“I started wrestling around 40 years ago, when I was four years old."
Could it be true that a family that wrestles together, stays together?
This seems indeed the case for the De Wet family, as every member has had their fair share of recognition in the wrestling arena.

Head Coach of Newcastle Cougars Wrestling Club, Danie de Wet said he had been a part of wrestling for as long as he could remember.
“I started wrestling around 40 years ago, when I was four years old. I was fortunately born into a wrestling family, so the passion was obviously passed down from my father and his brothers, who were all avid wrestlers.
His wife, Lizzy, is just as involved as he is, taking on the role of team manager for the same number of years.
Danie and Lizzy’s son, Eric, has followed most closely in his father and grandfather’s footsteps, continually taking the wrestling arena by storm.
At the age of 17, Eric has achieved much more than he though he would.
