3 trucks and 2 cars involved in serious collision on the N3 near Ladysmith, resulting in multiple injuries
Numerous people were injured in the collision, with 1 person sustaining serious injuries
A serious collision between numerous trucks and light motor vehicles occurred during the early hours of Friday morning (June 1).
The incident took place on both the north- and southbound carriageways near the Bergville Toll Plaza.
Two trucks were involved in a rear-end collision in the northbound lane, with one of the trucks going across the centre median into the southbound lane.
A third truck collided with the truck in the southbound lane and two light motor vehicles also crashed.
Numerous people were injured in the collision, with one person sustaining serious injuries.

Emergency personnel, towing services, police and RTI responded to the scene.
The injured were treated on scene and then taken to hospital for further medical attention.
The roadway was closed for a long period of time until the trucks were towed away.
