
Faction fighting flared up in the Mbodwane (Waaihoek) area early this morning (August 21).
Two people have been killed, one person was injured and one survived unscathed.
It is alleged that conflict between the Lushaba, Mvelase and Nkosi clans is at the heart of the faction fighting.

Yesterday, the Lushaba family received information concerning a possible attack and the men went into hiding.
This morning at about 6.30am, at least four gunmen ambushed them in the bush, opening fire with AK-47s and .303 rifles. The gunmen then fled the scene.
Police officers recovered a .303 rifle in a donga. At least 20 to 30 shell casings were found strewn on the ground.
A heavy police presence is currently at the scene.
