Men fail to honour court appearances

Men need to report to court on given dates to avoid facing jail time

The number of domestic violence cases reported at local police stations is shocking, especially during Women’s month.

Women are still being physically and verbally abused in the comfort of their own homes, leaving them vulnerable.

At the Dundee Magistrat’s Court this morning, four women attended their cases alone. The alleged perpetrators were nowhere to be seen.

Three of them were attending domestic violence cases and one was filing for a protection order and attending her previous domestic case with the same man with whom she was filling a protection order against.

The Court ordered that notices be sent to the accused warning them to attend their next Court appearance of face contempt of court charges.
