BUSTED: Dagga lab and plantation seized in Volksrust – (Photos)

The Secunda Hawks, the Secunda Dog Unit, Crime Intelligence and Counter Narcotics busted a drug lab with its own dagga cultivation system on a plot in Volksrust on August 21, reported sister newspaper Echo/Ridge Times Newspapers
The team executed a search and seizure warrant at the farm Droefheid in the Volksrust district.

The entire growth process was set up in a hydroponic system.
The Hawks arrested Philip Laurence Gallie (58) and Sarah Jane Gallie (42). Ms Gallie’s ID book indicated her surname as that of Thomas.

Capt Segotodi said the total value of the exhibits seized was about R450 000.
This included laptops, cell phones, a 9mm Browning pistol and ammunition, 112 dagga plants, growing equipment and 20kg of dried dagga.
The arrested couple appeared in the Volksrust Magistrate’s Court on August 22 and were released on bail of R10 000 each with strict bail conditions.
The case was postponed to November 23.
