UPDATE: Refuse removal to return to normal in Estcourt, says Municipal Manager

"One of the refuse compactors is now fully repaired and should be ready for operation by September 15"

It will be a sigh of relief for locals to hear that the municipality has confirmed that one of the dysfunctional refuse compactors may be back on the road.

This good news does come with the mandatory terms and conditions.

“One of the refuse compactors is now fully repaired and should be ready for operation by September 15. It is therefore anticipated that refuse collection should be back to normal September 17. This is however dependent on the examination of the vehicle by our Traffic Department as required by the National Traffic Act,” commented Municipal Manager Mr PS Mkhize in response to questions sent by the Estcourt News more than a week ago.

The coming week will be prove whether these sentiments ring true as residents may be relieved to see refuse removal schedules return to normal.
