BREAKING NEWS: Three injured in N11 collision
The exact cause of the collision is still unclear and will be subjected to further police investigation.
A man sustained critical injuries after a bakkie and a truck collided on the N11 between Newcastle and Volksrust early this morning (September 30).
According to Jan-Henk van Vuuren , spokesperson for WATCO Emergency Services, Newcastle Protection Services had to use the Jaws of Life to free the man from the wreckage, while at the same time having to extinguish the burning truck.

Two other people also sustained minor to moderate injuries.
The three men were taken to various local hospitals for further medical care.
