
With the class of 2018 preparing to write their final examinations it usually means weeks of stressed-out, anxious and moody teens, as well as those late night cramming sessions.

Parents usually tip-toe throughout the house, afraid to make a sound that may trigger an eruption of built-up nervousness, anxiety and stress from their under-pressure children.
So, here are some useful tips for helping to cope with exam stress.
1. Eat, sleep and exercise well – Be sure to try and get eight hours of sleep, drink less caffeine and more water and get at least half an hour of exercise in per day.
2. Revise with peers – This study technique allows individuals to better absorb and understand their own notes, as well as provides the emotional benefit of social support.

3. Find the study technique that works for you – There are many methods one can use to study, such as re-writing notes, reading your notes repeatedly and forming study groups; however, it is important to find the method that works for you.
4. Pace yourself – Studying at the last minute is never a good idea. Don’t procrastinate.
5. Talk to someone – You are not alone – if you are struggling, talk to friends, family or someone that you are comfortable with.
6. Remember to breathe – ten-minute breathing exercises help to reduce the body’s stress levels and allow you to think rationally about the situation at hand.
