Treverton College learners are touching lives

Products purchased with funds raised from the sleep over were packed into donated school bags and draw string bags

Mathapelo Moloi affectionately known as ‘Thaps’ was Treverton College’s grade 11 learner who arranged the Nelson Mandela Sleep Out this year.

She is also the 2018 Tomorrow Trust Ambassador for Treverton. Products purchased with funds raised from the sleep over were packed into donated school bags and draw string bags.

On Thursday last week, a team from the school headed off to deliver these packs to the school Thaps had chosen in Phoenix.

A school is named AM Moolla Spes Nova. This school caters for children with mental and physical disabilities.
The team met with the Deputy Principal Mr RB Maharaj who gave some insight into the incredible work done there.
They got to watch a snip-it of a show the children were putting on.

What was incredible to see was despite their disabilities they were cheerful and the children clearly enjoyed being on the stage even though they face many daily challenges.

The team also met with a few students to hand over the bags. These children are a true inspiration.
