Gogo Lunch Club’s wonderful water gift
About 10 000 litres were pumped into the main, dried up JoJo tank, which feeds seven taps in the area.

The sight of a water-tanker cruising down the dirt road, trailed by a dust cloud, was a blessed sign for the Gogo Lunch Club on Thursday.
Answering their pleas for water, Pam Golding Properties and Valotech joined together to get water out to the seven villages that had been sitting for almost a month without a drop to drink.

About 10 000 litres were pumped into the main, dried up JoJo tank, which feeds seven taps in the area.
The other 2 000 litres were pumped into the smaller JoJo tank located in the village, where the Gogo Lunch Club meets every Tuesday.
Accompanying the truck were Gaynor van Heerden and Samantha Wade, both from Pam Golding Properties and Craig Elliot from the Educentre.
Wade explained, “I couldn’t bear the thought of the villagers going another day without water so I asked my husband Stephen to help me. He phoned Roy Kruger from Valotech who offered his water-tanker and Pam Golding Properties will pay for the diesel,” she explained.
Cynthia Mavuso and Mthandaze Mthembu were two Gogo Lunch Club members who were present when the precious water was delivered and were so excited they embraced the two ladies thanking them profusely.
“Thank you so much to Roy and to his driver Aron Dlamini for driving out all this way to help,” said Wade delightedly as she twisted open one of the taps and water came gushing out.
Bidding farewell amid hugs and handshakes, the trio departed from the dusty village.

A quick glance backwards at the now full JoJo tank, revealed brightly coloured buckets and containers of all shapes and sizes, already forming an undulating dotted chain from the tap, as thankful villagers arrived to quench their thirst and carry home their small water rations.
The water would only last one whole day…
