DSS Principal Mr Sewlal congratulated the learners on their results and encouraged all learners to work hard

Thursday evening was set aside for recognising and rewarding excellence.

Drakensberg Secondary School (DSS) invited guests, parents, guardians, and well-wishers to the school’s annual awards ceremony that was held at the Forderville Hall.

The top academic achievers from each grade were rewarded with trophies and certificates. Special awards for public speaking and chess were also handed out.

DSS Principal Mr Sewlal congratulated the learners on their results and encouraged all learners to work hard in order to unlock doors to the future.

Ria Maniram was awarded for receiving five A’s for English, Afrikaans, Life Orientation, Life Science and Geography.

Ruvimbo Gono received the Leadership award. Cheyne Chisholm was awarded the Good Fellowship award.

DSS was proud to announce that Temisha Pillai was the 2018 Dux recipient.  The lass was congratulated on her dedication to her studies, which earned her this prestigious award. Grade 11 learner Teniel Naidoo was awarded for the highest marks in the grade.

Charlaine Freeman from grade 10 was the highest achiever. DSS Principal Mr Sewlal thanks educators, the School Governing Body, and community for their support.
