Short supply of blood in KZN: Please donate ASAP

Donors can give blood as often as every 8 weeks

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is urging the community to please donate blood, as they are in a crisis. They are in short supply in KZN.

A unit of blood only lasts 42 days after donation and, for this reason, it is important for blood donors to donate regularly. Donors can give blood as often as every eight weeks.

Every unit of blood can save a minimum of three lives, as blood is separated into red blood cells, plasma and platelets.

The Ladysmith Blood Donor Clinic is situated at San Marco Centre, so if you have any enquiries, then please visit the clinic. The friendly staff are always willing to help.
