Drakensberg Boys Choir sing for the Japanese

The event had 400 to 500 guests who thoroughly enjoyed the boys’ performance and the photo opportunity with them afterwards

Some of the youngsters at the Drakensberg Boys Choir School recently performed at Monte Casino for a New Year’s celebration for the Japanese who live and work in South Africa.

The event had 400 to 500 guests who thoroughly enjoyed the boys’ performance, the photo opportunity with them afterwards, and buying some merchandise.

The boys sang ‘Hanu Wa Saku’ (‘Flowers May Bloom’), which is a song that was written after the tsunami in 2011 and is very special to Japanese people. They followed this with ‘Does Your Mother Know’ and ‘Shosholoza’.

The school had a successful tour to Japan in 2017; the start of bridging the gap between South Africa and Japan.
