SEE: Drakensberg Boys Choir School hosts Swiss musicians

Leading up to the event, two workshops were held for the boys where Schneider-Waterberg focused on vocal technique and baroque music, and taught the boys a Namibian folk song

World renowned choir, the Drakensberg Boys Choir had the pleasure of hosting Swiss musicians recently.

Reiner Schneider-Waterberg and Dominic Chamot visited the school and enchanted audiences with their music.

Leading up to the event, two workshops were held for the boys where Schneider-Waterberg focused on vocal technique and baroque music, and taught the boys a Namibian folk song. Chamot conducted a workshop focusing on piano lessons, and introduced the boys to some lesser-known composers.

Prior to this event, the duo conducted a workshop at Michaelhouse (Reiner Schneider-Waterberg’s alma mater), and proceeded onto La Motte Wine Estate for another performance.

Currently, Reiner Schneider-Waterberg is a solo Baritone-singer, and conducts several choirs in Switzerland.
He is also teaching at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, a music conservatory specializing in old music, as well as singing in ‘SingerPur’, a world-renowned acapella ensemble.

Chamot is working as a concert pianist, and playing solo concerts – with symphony orchestras and accompanying other musicians.
