No load-shedding predicted in KZN until the end of August

If there is load-shedding, it will be Level 1 load-shedding on a few occasions, says the minister

A collective sigh of relief accompanied the announcement that the country will not be experiencing load-shedding for the next few months.

This after Minister of Public Enterprise Mr Pravin Gordhan, along with Eskom executives, recently held a briefing outside the Eskom power station in Johannesburg to give an update on plans to stabilise the electricity supply, which the minister called “the winter plan”.

“The other indication that we want to bring to the South African public, which will also create room for optimism and hope, is that if there is load-shedding, it will be Level 1 load-shedding on a few occasions between now and at least the end of August,” said Mr Gordhan.
