MEC for Transport urges people to be safe on the roads, as the province experiences heavy rains
"Be patient and reduce your speed to avoid unnecessary crashes"
MEC for Transport, Community Safety & Liaison Mr Mxolisi Kaunda has urged motorists to be safe on the roads, as the KwaZulu-Natal province has been experiencing heavy rains of late.
“We call upon motorists and pedestrians to be cautious on our roads so that we can save lives. Please maintain a safe following distance and switch on your lights in inclement weather conditions. Be patient and reduce your speed to avoid unnecessary crashes,” said Kaunda.
This statement by the MEC comes after a number of motor vehicle accidents in KZN.
Locally, a taxi crash took place in Peacetown on Tuesday (April 23). Another crash on the R600 saw three people losing their lives and another 24 injured.
