Latest fuel price hike coincides with Worker’s Day
This follows a huge increase at the beginning of April

Motorists are in for yet another hammering after an announcement by the Department of Energy that the price of fuel is set to go up yet again tomorrow (May 1).
The irony is that tomorrow is Worker’s Day and this is just what the workers of our country do not need.
Motorists will now pay an extra 54 cents a litre for petrol. Diesel and illuminating paraffin go up by one cent and three cents a litre respectively. This follows a huge increase at the beginning of April.
“This not only affects motorists, because an increase in the fuel price means an increase in the cost of living as a whole. Taxi fares might also be hiked, which may in turn lead to wide-scale protests and further damage to our already struggling economy,” said one local commuter.
