Female hospitalised after hiking accident in the Drakensberg

A woman, believed to be in her 50s, sustained several injuries after falling while on a hike

While hiking near a resort in the Drakensberg mountains yesterday (May 18) a female took a nasty fall, causing several injuries.

Paramedics on scene believe that the woman, who is believed to be in her 50s, fell some distance, which caused the serious injuries.

“Once stabilised, the woman was airlifted by a private helicopter to the awaiting ER24 personnel at the Winterton Country Club,” commented ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.
