300 residents had been identified by proportional representation (PR) councillor Mthembeni Majola as most deserving.

Initially, when the plan took flight, Gift of the Givers Foundation Estcourt volunteer Jaaved Khan had secured 300 blankets for this distribution. However, he had a surprise for the residents.

“Today, in addition to the blankets, we have 300 food packs, which includes items like tinned food, rice, beans and more as well as 300 hygiene packs that consist of sanitary and body care products,” announced Mr Khan.

This was met by a round of grateful applause from the crowd. After the Gift of the Givers Foundation mission was explained to the residents, a queue was formed.
Each person received the allotted parcels and expressed their thankfulness to the team.
