Inspiring industry talk for Newcastle entrepreneurs

Lamberti’s primary focus throughout his 37-year career, was rooted in entrepreneurial development, turnaround and public listing of multinational companies headquartered in South Africa.

Newcastle-born business man and entrepreneur, Mark Lamberti gave an inspiring talk on July 12 at Blackrock Casino.

On the night, Newcastle Sakekamer hosted a gala dinner of entrepreneurship, with many business owners, representatives and entrepreneurs eager to acquire knowledge from the highly distinguished speaker.

Lamberti’s primary focus throughout his 37-year career, was rooted in entrepreneurial development, turnaround and public listing of multinational companies headquartered in South Africa. Since recently retiring as Director and CEO of various private companies, he has taken on roles of mentorship, consulting assignments, leadership and non-executive directorship.

Lamberti’s business profile includes being CEO of Imperial Holdings Limited, where he led rationalisation and repositioning from a R110-billion revenue industrial conglomerate, employing 50 000 employees in 39 countries, to specialising in logistics and vehicles.

Lamberti was keen to share his knowledge of the business sphere: “There are three themes I live by in life; learning, leading and living. As we grow up, we change and a lot of factors can bring about that change: families, work, our everyday surroundings, friends, our political views and the economic state.

“Change is also accelerated by technology and we constantly need to adapt ourselves to the changing seasons. The better we understand change, the better we respond. We must make sure we grow up to make good decisions and judgement calls, and that is not necessarily linked to education. Judgement is about learning about life, your experiences.”

Lamberti encouraged guests to always keep an open mind.
