Homeless men helped with essential goods
The men also all tested negative for the virus

The Department of Social Development, Umzinyathi District’s Disaster Management and Province’s Disaster Management team got together today to distribute basic essentials to the destitute.

The items, such as soap, toothpaste and toilet paper, was given to eleven homeless men currently sheltered at the McKenzie Street Hall.

The donation was made possible through the Lotto Foundation and distributed through the Zodwa Foundation.
The men were also tested for Covid-19, with all testing negative.
Some of the men have not been in contact with their families for years. Anyone recognizing any of the men on these published images is asked to contact either the Courier or the local Social Welfare Department in a bid to reunite these families who have been separated for many years.
One of the men, Donovan, said he has not seen his family for over eight years and that they do not even know if he is still alive. He said he has no cellphone but would love to see his family again.
