uThukela mayor urges people to abide by lockdown rules

"Working together, we can beat the Covid-19 pandemic" says Mayor Siphiwe Mazibuko

uThukela District Mayor Siphiwe Mazibuko would like to urge all residents of Ladysmith to respect the rules and regulations of the lockdown. Mayor Mazibuko is also the chairperson of the District Command Council.

“As the uThukela District Council, together with all local command council working in partnership with the uThukela Department of Health led by Dr Thandeka Zulu, we are pleased with the work achieved so far and the  commitment that has been displayed by all our front-line workers to save the nation,” said Mayor Mazibuko in an interview with a Ladysmith Gazette journalist.

The mayor stressed that everyone needs to adhere to the regulations set out by government to keep the coronavirus (Covid-19) under control.

“If we all adhere to the instructions and follow the public health guidelines, we will keep the virus under control. This will help our town to avert more drastic restrictions. If one person out of 10 behaves and the others don’t, we will never see the light of reaching level 1. We are in this together, we need each other more than ever and working together, we can beat the Covid-19 pandemic,” added Mayor Mazibuko.
