Dannhauser residents get defensive
The lesson was aimed at keeping women and children safe
Dannhauser residents were recently given a showcase in self defence thanks to W/O Deon Claasens. W/O Claasens and his wife, who are from Newcastle, were invited by Dannhauser SAPS as part of the station’s Gender Based Violence campaign.
The self defence lessons, aimed for women and children, was a once off initiative, which hoped to teach them tricks and tips which could save their lives.
W/O Claasens and his wife allowed residents to practice moves they were shown, so that they would be able to use it in real life.
Everyone who attended agreed it was a resounding success and much needed in the small town.
