ESTCOURT: New political party shares its vision for the future

Mr Ndlovu believes the party has the potential to take over the local municipality

With a goal to take over the reins at Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality and improve the lives of the people, the Action In Community Movement will be contesting next year’s local government elections.

The newly-established political party currently has 100 members and one of them, Stanley Ndlovu, was keen to share insight into the party’s vision.

Mr Ndlovu was born and raised in Estcourt, and says he has always been driven by the spirit of ‘Ubuntu’.

“I have joined politics because I’m always keen to make a difference, especially for our poor people – even if it’s a small one,” he said.

The idea to start a new political party was pondered over after Mr Ndlovu said he noticed that people were losing hope in the current leaders and that service delivery was on a steady decline.

“Our political parties are failing us as the community; they don’t keep their promises and they don’t reach out to our masses and inform them about service delivery challenges. When you promise people and don’t deliver, that is where you show disrespect for people who voted for you,” said Mr Ndlovu.

The Action In Community Movement is currently in the process of being registered with the Independent Electoral Commission, which will allow it to contest the local government elections in 2021. Mr Ndlovu believes the party has the potential to take over the local municipality.

“The status of our municipality is very poor in terms of service delivery. Even though it was placed under administration, there is no difference. Our leaders must understand that they were not employed to be councillors, they were voted in by people who want to see and experience change. Our hope as we contest the upcoming local government elections is to win Inkosi Langalibalele Municipality so we are able to change the lives of our people,” he commented.

He says that the Action In Community Movement is not just a political party, but a movement which will bring unity and hope to people who have lost hope.

“Our goal is to ensure that all young people of Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality become economically self-sufficient, independent and healthy, with positive families, personal and social relationships, and should be actively involved in their community,” he said.

“Our vision is to be leading by example for the rest of South Africa. Our mission is to have everyone in our community focused on building our community for a stable future for our children,” he concluded.
