Repair work on burst pipes means some suburbs will also experience water supply interruptions today.
The Newcastle Municipality’s Communications Unit has confirmed that the Amcor Dam Resort has been temporarily closed ‘due to a pipeline burst’.
According to Mlungisi Khumalo, Head of Communications for the municipality, technical teams are currently on site attending to the burst pipe.
“An official communique will be issued once repairs have been done. The Newcastle Municipality is mindful of the reoccurrences of burst pipes and remains committed to finding long-term solutions with promptness,” said Khumalo.
