DUNDEE KZN: Fraudster poses as bank official

SAPS warn the public not give personal details to faceless callers

An elderly woman was swindled out of R20 000 after a fraudster phoned posing as bank official. Dundee SAPS, who are investigating the case, said the unsuspecting woman was called by the conman who claimed to be investigating a possible breach of her bank account.

He asked for her personal banking details which she gave him. Later, she realised R20 000 had been withdrawn from her account.

Dundee SAPS again warned the public not give personal information out to ”faceless callers”. In another incident, Dundee SAPS reported the theft of  Toyota Corolla Sprinter outside Golden Geese tavern on Saturday afternoon. The owner says he had parked the vehicle behind the tavern and upon returning found it missing.
