NEWCASTLE KZN: ArcelorMittal finance head tenders his resignation
The process to find a new CFO for the company is already said to have begun.
ArcelorMittal South Africa has this week announced that its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Desmond Maharaj has given in notice of his intention to resign from the post of CFO and as an executive director of the company.
According to a press statement from ArcelorMittal SA, the effective date of his resignation will depend on the appointment of his successor but will be no earlier than July 31 and no later than September 30 this year.
ArcelorMittal SA says this will allow time to appoint a suitable successor and adds this process is to begin immediately. The company confirms it will consider ‘appropriate internal and external candidates’.
“We are grateful to Desmond for his valuable contribution to the company and wish him well for the future,” says Mpho Makwana, Chairman of ArcelorMittal SA’s Board of Directors.
